LFSD 1ère a recipe poem |
South Africa:
A Nation's dish
First, mix the tip of a continent with a Portuguese conqueror.
Add some Dutch settlers.
Enslave and exploit local populations,
And stir for centuries.
Remove the Dutch with a strainer
And sprinkle some British.
Wait some decades
And pour an independence.
Watch as the mixture separates
And a thin white layer rises.
Let the mixture suffer for half a century
And reduce every kind of agitation.
Turn up the heat,
And let hope come through the thin white layer.
The mixture finally begins to homogenize,
As freedom boils in the saucepan.
Let disregard simmer.
Add the virus and cover.
